26 Week Checkup

So I went for my 26 wk checkup yesterday and everything is still moving right along... I gained 2lbs this month - go me - and measured about 27cms (you should be a cm for every wk you are pregnant). I told my doctor about the pains I've been having, which I thought were just stretching or Braxton Hicks Contractions, and it turns out they are the real deal - regular ol' contractions! Not to worry, it is very common in 2nd pregnancies to experience contractions earlier and more frequently than in the first pregnancy. These contractions will not be seen as early labor unless I have more than 6 in one hour and are harmless to the baby. So that was good to know - now when I am having these silly pains I can tell Dave (and anyone else bothering me) to hush because I am having a contraction! :) I will be going to the doctor every 2wks from now until the last month of my pregnancy when I will go every week (fun fun). We have all of the baby's furniture up and ready in the nursery and it looks beautiful. We will probably be registering for some basics in the next month or so... just bottles, diapers, bath stuff... general necessities since we don't know the sex.

Dave, Cadence and I are going to Atlanta this weekend to see my Uncle Andy, who will be in the states for just one day... so I will have lots of pics to post of this next week... and as always, I'll try to keep this page as current as possible! :)

Good Food, Good Times, & Famous People!

This weekend was one of the best we have had so far all year! Friday night I mowed the yard, which may not seem like a big deal to everyone, but I love to mow and it was perfect weather for it. (It's the simple things in life that please me :)) Then Saturday night we went to a hibachi style Japanese restaurant in Mt. Juliet and it was AWESOME! I want to eat there every night now. Cadence really enjoyed herself and really enjoyed the little pond of fish in the entryway. Then Sunday morning we got up and got everything ready to get the boat out on the lake for the first time this year. If any of you know us you know that we usually have had the boat out 3-4 times by the first of June, so we have been itching to get in the water for a while. This was Cadence's first time out on the boat and she LOVED it! As soon as we got her ready in her bathing suit and life jacket she was ready to hit the water. She played on floats that Sommer and I had from last year splashing everyone until I accidentally flipped both of the floats over and she ended up swimming in the water too! She didn't cry or fuss one single time and she waved "Hi" to all the other boats and seadoos passing by. When we decided to get something to eat we drove across the lake to a marina at Hurricane Ridge called Blue Gill Cafe, Blue Water Cafe - I don't know - something with Blue and Cafe. There we spotted Richie McDonald (used to be the lead singer of Lonestar) sitting at at table with his family. Then a tall, thin guy came in and started talking to him and when he turned around to go to his table I whispered over to Eric that he was the lead singer of Lady Antebellum! Sure enough it was Charles Kelley and his fiance, and the other male vocalist of the group Dave Haywood! They sat right behind us and played and talked to Cadence the whole time. Then when they were leaving Charles patted her back and said "We've had fun talking to you" and told me how sweet she was!!! I was like - how cool is that?!?!? THEN, as if that wasn't enough, who pops out on his houseboat right outside our window...... you wanna know don't you..... Al Gore! I told Dave, Sommer, and Eric that I was bringing an autograph book if we ever ate lunch there again! It was so cool. Then Cadence fell asleep on the way back to the boat ramp and it was just a sweet ending to a perfect day. I hope we have many many many more days on the lake that were as fun as yesterday!
